One remote supports training 2 dogs at the same time but with an additional collar purchased. If you just have one dog, channel 2 can be used as a safety lock, and no worry your dogs accidentally warned by mis-touch. Generally, the tone and vibration are enough to get the dog’s attention no need to shock. Shock is used for stubborn dogs.
